Emma Latham-Jones
Associate
Emma is a social scientist whose work brings together behavioural economics, technology and young people’s wellbeing. She is especially interested in how digital technologies, including AI, are shaping young people’s attention, learning and cognitive health. She also works on how young people, and the schools and organisations that support them, can navigate major transitions well.
Her career began in public policy, in the British Civil Service and then as an international civil servant at the OECD in Paris. She went on to senior management roles in responsible finance, and later in responsible AI at the company of Roger Ferguson, former Vice Chairman of the US Federal Reserve. Her work has taken her from Rio de Janeiro to Paris and Beijing. She has spoken alongside a former Vice President of the USA, a former DPP and a former Governor of the Bank of England, and has recently been invited to speak about AI and the future of work at St Mary’s Ascot, Eton and Cambridge.
A Cambridge alumna, Emma has received writing and public speaking awards from institutions including the House of Lords, UC Berkeley and the University of Cambridge. After the sudden loss of a close friend and then her mother, both inspiring mentors, Emma chose to dedicate herself fully to young people’s wellbeing and growth. Through Zenomics, she supports students through key academic transitions and helps educational organisations do the same at a time of rapid economic and technological change.
